Orkney & Shetland: Today, expect a mostly cloudy day with outbreaks of rain or drizzle, especially heavy at first. As the day progresses, the rain will become lighter and patchy. There will be some brighter spells for a time across Orkney, and Shetland will see improvement later. Strong southwesterly winds are in the forecast. The maximum temperature will reach 18°C.
Highlands & Eilean Siar: In the eastern parts, it will be largely dry and warm with bright or sunny spells. However, further west, it’s going to be a cloudy and breezy day with more outbreaks of rain, heaviest in the morning. The maximum temperature will be around 19°C. Tonight, conditions will vary, with cloud and mist, outbreaks of rain in the west, but drier with clear spells in the east. The minimum temperature is expected to be 13°C.
Grampian: Today is going to be bright and very warm with long spells of hazy sunshine. Western parts might be a bit cloudier at times but should stay dry. Expect strong and gusty southwesterly winds by the afternoon. The maximum temperature will reach 23°C. Tonight will be dry with clear spells, with mild temperatures, and southwesterly winds easing. The minimum temperature will be around 10°C.
Strathclyde: Across Argyll, it will mainly be cloudy with some patchy rain or drizzle in the afternoon. Elsewhere, it will be a dry, bright, and rather warm day, although turning cloudier in the afternoon. Fresh southwesterly winds will be present. The maximum temperature is expected to be 20°C. Tonight, you can anticipate a bright evening for some, but there will be cloud and patchy rain initially over Argyll. The night will be dry with clear spells but with some patchy mist around. The minimum temperature will be 13°C.
Dumfries, Galloway, Lothian & Borders: Today, after any overnight mist clears, you can look forward to a bright day with good spells of warm sunshine. Occasionally, fresh southwesterly winds will blow. The maximum temperature is forecasted to be 23°C. Tonight, a bright evening will transition into a dry night with clear spells, although some patchy low cloud and fog may develop. The night will be mild, with a minimum temperature of 13°C.
